Frequently asked.

Everything a thoughtful prospect would ask before paying ₹99. If your question isn’t here, email connect@sajag.club.

Pricing & billing

Is this a SaaS subscription?

No. One-time payment. ₹99 for the first 100 paid supporters, then ₹4999 after that. 3 years of free feature updates either way. We have no recurring billing because we have no servers to fund.

# subscription

How do I get up to 75% of my purchase price back?

Refer-and-earn unlocks after we hit 100 paid supporters and the price moves to ₹4999. Until then, Sajag is ₹99 — there's no meaningful 75% to give back. Once Phase B kicks in, sharing Sajag across three channels (WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Twitter) earns ₹1,250 back per verified post, up to ₹3,749 — 75% of what you paid. Manual review within 7 working days; refund via UPI to the same account that paid. Full mechanics on the refer-and-earn page.

# refer-and-earn

Do you offer refunds?

If Sajag doesn't open on your machine within 24 hours of payment, full refund — email connect@sajag.club and we'll fix it personally over a screen-share or send the money back. Refunds go via Razorpay back to your original payment method (typically 5–7 working days). Beyond install issues, payment is non-refundable, because the installer + passkey are irrevocable once shared.

# refund

How do I pay? Is there a credit-card option?

Razorpay handles checkout — UPI, cards, netbanking, wallets. Server decides your price at order creation: ₹99 for the first 100 paid supporters, ₹4999 after. We never see your card or UPI PIN; Razorpay is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. If Razorpay is briefly down, a direct-UPI fallback to the founder's account is exposed on /buy — same price, manual verification within 24 hours.

Privacy & data

Where does my financial data go?

Nowhere. Sajag runs entirely on your machine in a single SQLite file (and uploaded PDFs). Go offline — the app keeps working.

# data-location

What's the AMFI fetch you mention? Is it a tracker?

AMFI publishes a public daily NAV file at amfiindia.com. Sajag downloads it once a day to refresh mutual-fund prices. No data is sent to AMFI — only requested. Disable the fetch in settings; the rest of the app still works, your NAVs just freeze on the last refresh.

# amfi-fetch

Can someone else on my laptop see my Sajag data?

Only if they know your passphrase. The .sajag backup is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your passphrase, and the dashboard requires the passphrase to unlock per session. The raw SQLite file on disk is OS-permissioned to your user account.

# screen-share

Why no Account Aggregator integration?

Because that means your data flows through a regulated third party, however briefly. Sajag's promise is that your data never leaves your machine. The trade-off: you upload statements monthly. We think the privacy is worth the friction.

# aa-integration

What about the email I gave you when buying?

Your email is stored briefly to do three things: match your UPI payment, send your install link, and process the 75% refer-and-earn refund if you choose to share Sajag. None of your financial data ever touches our servers — only your email and the order itself. Want it deleted after your installer arrives? Email connect@sajag.club and we'll wipe it within 24 hours.

Recovery & continuity

What if I forget my passphrase?

Enter the PAN of any family member already in your Sajag DB. Reset works offline, on your machine. No email reset, no password recovery flow on a server.

# forgot-passphrase

I lost my Sajag passkey (the one in the welcome email). How do I get a replacement?

Email connect@sajag.club from the same email you bought with. The founder issues a fresh passkey + installer within 24 hours. No questions, no fees. Your old passkey is revoked so the replacement is the only one that activates Sajag.

# lost-passkey

Can I move Sajag to a new laptop?

Yes. Export your encrypted .sajag backup from the old machine, install Sajag on the new one, import the backup, enter the same passphrase. Everything — household data, uploaded PDFs, calculator preferences — comes across. No re-uploads needed.

# change-machine

What if I uninstall?

Your .sajag encrypted backup file stays on your disk. Re-install Sajag on the same or a different machine, import the backup, and continue. The backup format is documented in the repo.

# uninstall-reinstall

Platform & install

What about Windows? My laptop is a ThinkPad.

Sajag is Mac-only at launch (macOS 12+). Windows support is in active development — email connect@sajag.club to join the Windows waitlist and we'll notify you the day it ships. If you already paid and are on Windows, email us for a same-day refund.

# windows

Does Sajag work without internet?

Yes. Once installed, Sajag runs entirely on your machine — your dashboard, calculations, parsing, statements. The only outbound traffic is the optional AMFI NAV fetch (which you can disable) and an optional one-time LLM summary for a single insurance policy (also opt-in). Go offline and Sajag still works.

# offline

Is there an iOS or Android app?

On the roadmap, no committed ETA yet. We're sketching a companion mobile app that respects the same local-first promise: read-only views derived from your encrypted .sajag backup, sync happening on your own network never through our servers. Today, the desktop app on macOS / Windows / Linux is the full product. We'll announce the mobile build to existing buyers first.

Family & licensing

Can I share my license with parents or siblings in another house?

One license = one household. Spouses and dependent children share the install. Parents living separately or adult siblings in their own homes — that's a second license at the same launch price (we honour the launch rate for the second purchase if they reference yours).

# household-share

What about kids' data?

Add them as 'dependent' family members. They show up in the family-aggregate view but don't have their own login. Their accounts (minor MF folios, scholarship FDs, whatever exists on a PAN issued to a minor) are tracked under the household.

Compatibility

Which banks are supported for statement parsing?

PDF statement parsers ship for HDFC, SBI, ICICI, Axis, Kotak, and Yes Bank. For other banks, you can manually add transaction summaries — same accuracy, more typing. We add new bank parsers based on customer demand; email us your bank.

# which-banks

Which credit bureaus do you support? Can I upload from multiple?

Sajag parses CIBIL (TransUnion CIBIL), Experian, CRIF, and Equifax — the four bureaus that operate in India. You can upload from more than one — Sajag de-duplicates loans by account number, so a home loan reported in both CIBIL and Experian shows up once in your liabilities. Each upload replaces the previous report from the SAME bureau.

# which-bureaus

The product

How is Sajag different from bank-linked investment trackers?

Most trackers sync your bank or MF data to their servers — that's how they work, and often how they monetise. Sajag does none of that. You upload PDFs once a month, the data lives in a SQLite file on your laptop, and we have no business model that requires knowing anything about you. Slower to set up, but your data stays yours forever.

# competitors

How do I share my numbers with my CA / spouse?

Generate a Sajag Statement: a single A4 PDF with a SHA-256 signature. Email it. The signature is verifiable against the same DB, so anyone receiving the PDF can confirm it wasn't edited.

# share-with-ca

Can Sajag remind me when my loan EMIs are due?

Yes — but the reminder lives in YOUR calendar app, not in Sajag. On the Liabilities page, click the bell icon on any loan, pick a lead time (1/2/3/7/10 days or custom), and download a one-click .ics file. Import it into Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook. Sajag sees nothing; that's the point.

# loan-reminders

Can I see my numbers in USD / EUR / GBP for travel or NRI use?

Yes. Click the globe icon in the dashboard header to switch display currency. Eight currencies supported: INR, USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, SGD, CAD, AUD. The DB always stores in INR; conversion happens display-side using ECB rates fetched from frankfurter.dev (a free, public, ad-free FX API). Switch back to INR any time.

# currency-display

What's the daily spend heatmap on the cash-flow page?

A calendar heatmap showing every day of the year, coloured by spend intensity. Renders only when bank statements are uploaded — it aggregates debit transactions by day-of-month so you can spot the days you over-spent. The brutal version of 'mindless lifestyle creep'.

# daily-spend-heatmap

Community & support

What is sajag.club? Why ".club" not ".app" or ".com"?

Because Sajag is a club. Every paying member joins our private Slack — one weekly piece of practical money advice from the founder, one quarterly fireside chat with a marquee Indian investor, and a directory of fellow members thinking through their FIRE math. The .club domain isn't marketing — it's the architecture.

# the-club

How do I join the Sajag Slack community?

Pay for Sajag → on the confirmation page you get a Slack invite link (also emailed to you). Click → enter the email you bought with → you're in. No screening, no waitlist. Inactive accounts are quietly archived after 12 months of no logins, so the directory stays meaningful.

# slack-invite

What do the quarterly investor sessions look like?

60-minute Zoom call. The investor (PMS managers, founders of well-known funds, retired CFOs) shares their personal money playbook — not their fund's pitch — followed by 30 minutes of live Q&A from members. Recorded and posted to Slack so you can watch later if you missed it. No upsell, no AUM ask. Just listening to people who think about wealth deeply.

# investor-sessions

The company

What if Yash stops maintaining Sajag?

You have the installer. You have the SQLite database. You have your encrypted .sajag backup. The product keeps running on your machine forever — no license server to phone home to, no dependency on us being alive. The 3-year update window is a promise of new features, not a kill-switch.
