How to download your NPS statement

Tier 1 + Tier 2 corpus, scheme-wise NAV, contribution history, and PRAN identity.

Free of cost. CRA portals (Protean / KFin Technologies) provide NPS account statements at no charge — that's part of their PFRDA mandate.

Have these ready before you start

  • Your PRAN (12 digits — on your NPS card or in the welcome email)
  • PRAN portal password (use "Forgot Password" if you've never logged in — it emails a reset link)
  • Knowledge of which CRA holds your account: Protean (formerly NSDL) or KFin Technologies

Step by step

  1. 1

    Identify your CRA

NPS is administered by two CRAs (Central Recordkeeping Agencies): Protean (formerly NSDL) and KFin Technologies. Check your existing NPS welcome email or PRAN card to know which CRA holds your account.

  2. 2

Log in to your CRA portal

Protean: www.cra-nsdl.com → 'Login with PRAN'. KFin: kcra.kfintech.com → 'Subscriber Login'. Use your PRAN as the user ID.

  3. 3

    Open Transaction Statement

Navigate to 'Views → Statement of Transaction' (Protean) or 'View → Transaction Statement' (KFin). Choose 'Tier 1 + Tier 2' to get both tiers in one PDF.

  4. 4

    Pick the date range

Use 'Since Inception' if you've been contributing for a few years — that's the most useful for Sajag's projection. Otherwise, last financial year is fine.

  5. 5

    Download and upload

Click 'Download PDF'. Save and upload to Sajag's NPS slot during onboarding. The parser reads scheme NAV + contribution + corpus.

If the PDF asks for a password

Usually your DOB in DDMMYYYY. Some PRAN accounts use the first four letters of name + DOB. Sajag parser auto-tries both.

Sajag’s parser also tries common derivations automatically (PAN, DOB combinations, last-4 of mobile, bank-specific schemes). You usually won’t need to type the password during upload.

Common gotchas

  • If you've forgotten your PRAN login password, use 'Forgot Password' on the CRA portal — it emails a reset to the registered email.

  • Tier 2 accounts (voluntary, withdrawable anytime) and Tier 1 (locked-in retirement) appear together in the statement — Sajag treats them differently in the FIRE projection.

  • NPS NAV updates daily; the statement always shows the latest values. No need to re-download more often than monthly.
